Williamson

Our Founder & Chairman, Mr. Bhikhalal Shah, joined a Pune-based pharmaceutical distributor, after finishing his inter-commerce studies. In 1962, he relocated to Ahmedabad and started working for a medicine distributor.

Mr. Bhikhalal Shah started with a rented place at Relief Road, Ahmedabad, and January 26th marked to be the inception of M/s. Shah & Company, with a minimal finance.

A prominent place for wholesale pharma trade was acquired in Biscuit Gali, Ahmedabad.

It was a hopeful period when several new and big agencies were associated with the Companies’ business, and this period proved to be a Company’s’ Golden Era. Quick growth, the right expansions and ethical business conduct increased our reputation in the pharmaceutical business. The reasons for growth were honesty, prompt services and perfect infrastructure.

The computer era began, and this year the first computer was installed in all around the Indian pharma industry. This played a major role in further growth as it enhanced services to customers by multiple folds. The Next Generation also started stepping their feet in & started getting groomed for future endeavours.

The new leader, Mr. Rakesh Shah (Son of Mr. Bhikhalal Shah), was all set to enter into business activities after finishing his Post-Graduation studies. The era of the super stockiest/distributor, C & F agent, was about reach to an end. Looking at the opportunity, diversification was on the cards for the future business growth line. Now, two leaders with a common goal started implementing their visions to see the business grow fourfold. wider space was taken at Ashram Road, Ahmedabad, which facilitated customers and company executives and ensured smooth operations.

In 1986, M/s. Kanchan Pharma Private Limited was set up in Narol At the time, Indian Pharmaceutical Logistics was going through a big change, moving from depots to C&F or distributors.

On the other hand, M/s. Shah & Company also opened a new branch at Maninagar with Mr. Girish Shah giving a valuable contribution to the success of M/s. Shah & Company.

With the expansion of Ahmedabad Corporation City Limits and our growing operational business needs, we shifted our Kanchan Pharma, operations from Narol premises to Aslali. We acquired an area of 3500 sq. yard plot and made construction of nearly 50,000 sq. ft. of warehouse infrastructure at Aslali, along with cold storage facility of 100 Sq. Ft area and shifted our work to this enhanced capacity new premises of Kanchan Pharma from industrial area “Narol” to “Aslali”.

Looking at developing and new business requirements, additional infrastructure became a vital part of business expansion.

A new adjoining plot of 2500 square yards was purchased, and B building was built with a massive cold storage facility dedicated solely to pharmaceutical logistics, which played a significant role in raising our Company's profile.

Given our expanding future needs, a 10000 sq. ft. land akin to our current setup was purchased with the intention of constructing a C Building our industrial business premises, with Class A infrastructure and world-class facilities.

Given our fruitful collaboration and ethical business practices, one of our multinational principals insisted on us handling and entrusted their distribution activities in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and thus we established Kanchan Pharma operations in Bhiwandi.

With the pharmaceutical industry’s faster growing pace, we spotted an opportunity to invest in a start-up pharmaceutical marketing company and diversified our business. This company is currently establishing itself as one of the most reputable Indian pharmaceutical enterprises to be founded in the 20th century.

Our principals' involvement, teamwork and ethical business conduct pleased our multinational business associates, who offered and entrusted us their Andhra Pradesh operations, and we commenced our business operations of Kanchan Pharma at Hyderabad.

To cater industry growing needs of cold chain supplies, we decided and built cold storage infrastructure with all of the necessary facilities, introducing the “D” building to our industrial business premises.

Continuing our expansion, after initiating Bhiwandi and Hyderabad branches, we started the Kanchan Pharma, Nagpur operations with a warehouse infrastructure capacity of 5000 Sq. Ft.

With a view to grow with market and identifying the right opportunities, we decided to take up a new venture by entering into a new business segment in the animal healthcare industry which would be concentrating on and marketing veterinary range of products.

With the ever growing pharma industry, we again decided to invest our roots in another pharmaceutical company with a vision to market branded innovators and add quality products to the industry. Today, the company is ranking in the top 100 fastest growing pharmaceutical company and is one of the prominent players with a field force of nearly 1500 people.

Our desire to expand continues at Kanchan Pharma. We started our Indore, Chennai, and Ghaziabad branches with a vision to serve all India pharma business needs with our distribution activities. Also, the same year, the 3rd generation younger entrepreneur, our Directors’ Son, Mr. Rushabh Shah, stepped into the business after finishing his masters to inherit the vision, attitude, and values of business conduct.

With the business growth of our principals and increasing new expansion opportunities to the Company, it was decided to construct and initiate the new E-Building premises with the most advanced and technological facilities required for warehousing.

Our A & B buildings premises needed a major facelift as they were aging. Therefore, we decided on a complete makeover and renovations.

Along with this, we also constructed a floor above these premises with a canteen facility to cater to 400 plus employees at a time, a record room that can store up to 75000 files, a store room for all the essential requirements, and a manufacturing facility dedicated to only overprinting, relabelling, or stamping of the finished goods, etc., was constructed in order to do repackaging, relabelling, or overprinting for Hospital Supplies, Institutional Supplies, Government Supplies, sample conversions, combo packing, etc., with compliance of required licenses.

With a vision of establishing distribution channels pan India and associating with the principals we associated with other leading and prominent pharmaceutical companies and have become Pan India Third-Party Logistics (3PL) in true sense. This way we are continuing our business expansion and our all India operation reached up to 19 branches now covering each and every corner of India.

Our A & B buildings premises needed a major facelift as they were aging. Therefore, we decided on a complete makeover and renovations.

We have vibrantly set up our Corporate Office at one of the premier location of Ahmedabad City, Solitaire Sky Building. Now all our principal activities are being centrally controlled from this newly set Corporate Office. Adding some new feathers in our cap, this year we also welcomed, the third generation younger entrepreneurs to our fast expanding business. Ms. Rushika Shah (Daughter of Mr. Rakesh shah) and Mrs. Devanshi Shah (Daughter-in-law of Mr. Rakesh shah) have started contributing fully towards company’s’ business goals with their full dedication and inherent sense of belongingness and are all set to take the legacy ahead.
